More and more often we come across labels that use words like “natural”, “herbal”, “plant-based”. Unfortunately, the term “natural” isn’t regulated within the EU1 neither in America2, therefore it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s free from all synthetic, man-made chemicals.

Alarming figures

A pretty interesting but rather disturbing fact is EU laws ban 1328 synthetic chemicals from cosmetics that are suspected or known to cause illnesses like cancer, genetic mutation, reproductive harm or birth defects.
